CHICKEN RUN

Saturday, April 3rd was officially called "Chicken Run". For those who dont know what that means, just ask a Mangy Mutt next time you see one at the track. There's only one way to cure a dog from killing chickens, and its a rather drastic one. Ya tie a dead chicken around there neck until it falls off. Them Mutts are turning out to be one tough pack-o-hounds, and are constantly on the lookout for a stray rider to hunt down. Seems like you pepper one in the butt with rock salt and another one pops up to take its place!  Guess if you cant beat-em' then join em!

What a great day of racing! Nice weather + nice track = great racing. There were a lot of great battles during the day. We saw many new faces and some old ones who decided to come out for a little sun & fun. We still have many of the class points championships that will come down to the last race and maybe a 'shoot out'. No major injuries (at least none we heard of) and some of our riders who got injured earlier in the year have made it back, way to go Austin and Tom! Next month we should have a great ending to a great season. Also remember it's VDR rider appreciation day on April 24th, and the traditional free munchies will be at hand. Be sure to bring a dish to put on the table, such as a desert, or side dish, or what have you

Also, saturday went very smoothly for a number of reasons, the main ones being the people who setup, run, and score the event. Blake and Karin Landon who now run VDR at Woodland, showed they can run a great show. I talked to Karin, and she is doing a great job scoring and running the event. Be sure to thank her for a job well done when you see her, because remember she has 3 young kids, runs a house, and still makes time for the benefit of all the racers. Blake is also an excellent ambassador, and was there all day helping people, especially those who crashed and needed assistance. Do the right thing, and thank them often...!

Going so fast it is just a BLUR
