AH-Yes...Well the track was wet early on and got kind of CHEWY....actually there were some deep ruts and cow trails, and some nasty little braking bumps as well, but for the most part the weather held out and some good racing was had by all. Even the sun popped out for a bit between clouds, and gave a welcome break to 3 months of just plain nasty weather. As you know, the January 10th race was cancelled, and that's only the 2nd time in 10 years that thats happened. It wasn't cancelled due to track conditions, but rather a safety hazard posed by falling branches in the parking lot.
And the CRUNCH part of Crunch Chewy? Well, there were quite a few little crashes here and there. Not to many severe ones, but quite a few little irritating ones. Most were caused by (some say) over aggressive riders, but truth is it was just plain rutty, and people hadn't ridden in a long time. I even got my a** run over and I've got knobby tracks up my a** to prove it. It was one them there Mangy Mutts I think, or it could have been one of dem' crazy Sullivans...Them Mutts are showing quite the turnout! and the Sullivans? well, when will there reign of terror end? Anyway, got some new guys to show up, and I think everybody had fun...
