Mark Bauer doing some tilling, Vintage Dirt style.
As Team Gas It N Go left the torrential downpour in the Willamette Valley and headed up Hwy 58 towards K-Falls, we new we were in for a great weekend but hoped it would be dry.  We arrived at the Hotel and after check in Kathy stayed to organize and relax while Dave & I headed out to the track to set up.

We paid our fees and set up next to the Poole Gang from Cally. Rob was busy working on one of his BSA’s. We chit chatted and off we were. Team Mud Turtles were there with Clay Light. A picture here and there, and a look at the track. Man did it look wide and fast. A trip through the pits and back to town for some grub and sleep.

We arrived the next morning and got all settled in.  After the rider meeting  we were off to practice. The track was wide and fast, with a two story drop off the front straight to a wide left hander that went on and on. Up to a few camber and off camber turns into a short straight through the some turns and around the tree to the finish line. As you made your way past the line you went into a right hander into a dog leg past the start and off the drop again to do it all over again.

It was fun fast and a great day for racing. I did not notice one crash into the first corners off the start. All I heard was “wow this is great”. My Maico broke during the first moto so Mark Bauer of Mud Turtle fame let me ride his 250 CZ Sidepiper in moto two. Dave & I both brought home first place honors for the weekend. Dave in 125 Classic expert and me in Sportsman Stock 500 Int.

All weekend we saw workers and helpers doing what needed to be done with a smile on their face. Say’n Hi and Glad to see you, Glad you came. Dirk was doing what ever needed to be done, From spot watering to replacing ribbon to what ever it was and always smiling. Thank you to Dirk for another job well done and done well. You and your crew put on a great event and the track was spectacular.
